The
foundation of Conil goes back until the year 1500, in
which the Phoenicians made the town famous because of
their high tuna fishings.
During
the time of the Romans the harbour of Conil became an
important part between Málaga and Cádiz.
After the fall of the Romans Conil suffered under the
Vandals and Byzantines until 711, when the Moors got
control over this area.

Later
on the Muslims and Christians lived together under
Alfonso X.
Alonso Pérez de Guzmán founded the modern
town Huedi Conil, which was known as Torre de Guzmán.
Until 1812 this town belonged to the Duques of Medina
Sidonia.
Visit
these buildings from the different epochs, which are
still existing, and walk through the historical Gates
of Conil (Arcos). Some of them you can find close
to the townhall (Ayuntamiento).
Nature
pur, walking on the beaches the whole year, pine forests,
and a mild climate invite you to stay here.
Water sports, Horse Riding, Tennis, Golf in the nearby
surroundings are only some of the many possibilities
to spend your leisure time.
