Zahara de los Atunes, a small and dreamy fisher town, belongs to the municipality of Barbate.

The small town "Zahara" offers the visitor all amenities for a recreative stay: restaurants, hotels, boutiques, shops, supermarkets and even a small fish market for the purchase of fresh fish, fruit and vegetable is existing.

"Zahara" is directly situated at the Atlantic and has a fantastic, andalusian coastal scenery with dunes, a crystal clear seawater, and nearly always an azure blue sky. An ideal place for holidays and to relax.

Some antique monuments and ruins from the 14th and 15th century are still to be seen; e.g. the "Almadraba Castle" with its fortifications, built from the duque of Medina Sidonia at that time. Here the nets and materials were stored, which were for the tuna fishing, the special art of "Almadraba".
